A BENCH has been put up in memory of a teenager who died after a car crash.
Abigail Krinks, 18, died after her car was in a collision with a van on the A133 near Great Bentley in July when she was on the way to work.
Residents raised money for the bench, which has been put up in an open space close to her home in Hazel Close, Thorrington.
Abigal’s mother, Sharon, said: “Abbie was well loved in the village and people got to know her when she got her dog.
“The bench is a tribute from the neighbours, who use it while walking their dogs.
“They all knew her and some of them took their dogs to Snoopies, where she worked.”
Abbigal died on July 1 after her blue Ford Sport Ka was in collision with a white and turquoise Iveco box van on the A133, near Heckfords Road.
The former Elmstead County Primary and Colne Community School student worked at Snoopies Grooming Salon, at Little Bentley.
She had been on day release to Otley College, in Ipswich, and was due to start work for the first time as a qualified groomer on the day she died.
Her father, Grenville, said he was proud of everything she had achieved in her life.
“She was a very hard-working, conscientious young lady who was loved by so many people,” he said.
“She was an amazingly popular girl and her friends and neighbours have been a fantastic help to all of us.”
Torrington Parish Council described the bench as “lovely and a fitting tribute to Abbie”.
