TROOPS from Colchester helped free a town from Taleban control without a bullet being fired.
Soldiers from Colchester’s 3rd Battalion The Parachute Regiment, in Helmand, Afghanistan, took part in the operation in Naqilabad Kalay as the insurgents were driven from the town.
It is now under the control of Afghan authorities after the operation - codenamed Emerald Winter - led by Afghan forces, with the support of allied troops.
