A THREE-YEAR-OLD girl who was dragged under a double decker bus remains in a stable condition.
The girl suffered serious head and chest injuries when she was hit by the First bus, close to the level crossing in Hythe Station Road.
She was due to have an operation at Great Ormond Street Hospital yesterday.
Police are appealing for a cyclist who witnessed the accident to come forward.
A spokesman for Essex Police said: “Officers from Stanway road policing unit would like to hear from anyone who may have information about that crash or witnessed it and would particularly like to hear from a man who was on a pedal cycle.
“He is believed to have seen the crash and signalled to the driver to stop, so he may well be a vital witness for us.”
Anyone with information about the incident should call Stanway road policing unit on 0300 3334444.
