After reading your article headlined: “Tesco says sorry to shopper who asked for help” I feel infuriated and very indignant at this so-called manager’s comment.
He was told he shouldn’t be out shopping without a carer. Having known Chris King as a fellow dart player for a number of years, I find it very difficult to understand how anyone can treat him like that.
He is always extremely polite and has a very pleasant manner about him. That must surely be shown in the way that he gets on with his life, looking after his 83-year-old mother and fulfilling his work commitments, unlike so many more so-called able people who sit at home drawing benefits.
While I appreciate the manager did not know him, or his circumstances, he/she should never have made such an insensitive remark and perhaps should think about a course in people skills for him/herself.
