AROUND 200 students held a protest in Colchester Town Centre against proposed education cuts.
Students, parents and lecturers took to the streets, including representatives from the University College Union, Labour party councillors and university lecturers met in Castle Park.
They held a demonstration outside the town hall with banners, placards and chants before doing a lap of the town centre, protesting outside Top Shop in Lion Walk and then returning to the Town Hall.
The crowd eventually dispersed around 3pm.
There were no arrests. REPORTS AND PICTURES IN THURSDAY'S GAZETTE
