SCHOOL transport on offer for tens of thousands of children will be re-assessed and cut.
This includes those with special educational needs and families with disabled children who are entitled to higher mobility benefit.
The cabinet for Essex County Council agreed, at its meeting on Tuesday, December 7, to cut about £6 million - about 25 per cent - from the home to school transport budget.
Stephen Castle, cabinet member for education, said the cases of all the 21,000 plus children who get the transport currently will have to be looked at.
See the Gazette on Wednesday, December 8, for the full story.
