A FACEBOOK page has been set up to try and save the Connexions youth service in Essex.
More than 250 people have already signed up after the cabinet for Essex County Council decided to axe the service and the 12 centres around the county.
Connexions co-ordinates youth services and support specifically for 13 to 19-year-olds but the loss of £7 million from the Government's area based grant led cabinet member for education Stephen Castle to recommend the service be abolished.
At least 160 jobs will be lost.
Visit facebook and search for “save connexions” to find out more.
