A FOOTBALL club reunion was branded "disappointing" after falling victim to the weather.
Past players of Harwich and Parkeston FC were due to meet fans and current squad members at an event organised to boost the club’s profile.
But treacherous conditions meant many veteran players were unable to attend and organisers were left disappointed by the turn out.
Tony Armstrong, club chairman, ex-player and manager, said: "It was very disappointing when the weather stopped people travelling in.
"We are not to be defeated, though, and are looking to rearrange the event for some time after Christmas."
The football club is playing at its lowest league level in its history and is struggling financially.
A display of the glory years, including photographs, trophies and newspaper cuttings of the club’s 1953 Wembley visit was organised to boost team morale. About 40 past players signed up for the event.
Organisers hope to attract the same interest when the event is rearranged.
