CONCERNED parents who fear for the safety of their children walking to school have presented a petition to council bosses.
Parents living on the Monkwick estate, in Colchester, launched a campaign to keep a lollipop lady patrolling a school crossing in Monkwick Avenue earlier this year.
On Thursday, they presented their petition, with more than 500 signatures, to officers at Essex County Council.
Since their lollipop lady left in June, a replacement has not been appointed.
It is thought council bosses have scrapped the vacancy in order to save money.
