COMMUNITY and voluntary organisations have been encouraged to apply for grants from Colchester Council.
The council has money available to give to organisations in the borough from its enterprise, skills and employment funding scheme.
It is for non-profit organisations that promote new businesses and provide employment and skills training.
Project and development funding is also available to organisations and initiatives that support clubs where older people can meet and socialise.
And there is also cash for the improvement of venues which serve residents across Colchester, for example the repair of buildings, car parks and signs. Applications can be made from tomorrow until January 31, 2011.
No details are available about how much the grants are for because the council is yet to confirm next year’s budget.
To apply for an enterprise grant, contact Jan Warren on 01206 282107 or email enterprise@colchester.gov.uk. Application forms for project and development funding is available from Fay Mathers on 01206 282968 or email fay.mathers@colchester.gov.uk
