I was very pleased to see Keith Henderson’s letter in Monday’s paper, headlined: “Carswell and Co’s cruel cuts”.
What especially pleased me was to see the Parliamentary spokesman for the Clacton Labour Party and his allies are going to “work night and day, 365 days a year, to ensure, come the next election, the voters of Clacton are indeed put off permanently...”
I trust this means without payment of overtime rates, that it will include all paid public (bank) holidays, and they will not be taking maternity or paternity leave, claiming benefits or any of the other methods by which they can get the State to support them.
Every Labour government this country has ever had has left the country broke.
The difference with the last one is that we weren’t merely left broke, but almost bankrupt.
I agree it wasn’t our crisis, but we have already paid for it with enormous loans, and now is the comeuppance time.
