PRIMARY school pupils had a cracking day trying to make Wallace & Gromit-style animations.
St Helena School, in Sheepen Road, Colchester, invited pupils from primary schools across the town for the chance to make a stop motion movie.
St Helena School is a specialist media arts college and part of its role is to help people in the community learn about media art. Eight to ten-year-olds from St John’s Green Primary School, the Bishop William Ward Primary School, the North Primary School, St James’ Primary School, St George’s Junior School and Kendall Primary School, took part.
Megan Lindsay, personnel manager for the school, said: “We have specialist media equipment and days like this encourage children to come here and try a new skill.
“The children had a great time creating a movie. It helped get them to combine artistic modelling with technology.”
