Has anyone on the council ever tried to exercise their “priority” over a cyclist?
I have, on pedestrian crossings when all cars have stopped, but not cyclists, and on pavements not marked as cycle paths.
It can be a very dangerous and painful (when slapped or run into) and insulting (when sworn at) result.
There is no way of identifying these rogue individuls (as they speed away on their bikes) and so sharing paths with them is unsafe, and on a riverside path, finding out whether the cyclist is a considerate one (which the majority are) or a “rogue”
could even be fatal.
