Mass murderer Jeremy Bamber has lost his latest attempt to appeal against his conviction.
The Criminal Cases Review Commission said it had decided not to refer his convictions to the Court of Appeal, following a lengthy review of his case.
Bamber is currently serving a life sentence for the murders of five relatives in 1985.
The notorious inmate has always protested his innocence and claims his schizophrenic sister Sheila Caffell shot her family before turning the gun on herself in a Tolleshunt D’Arcy farmhouse.
After reviewing material provided by Bamber's legal team, the Criminal Cases Review Commission said it had reached "a provisional decision not to refer his murder convictions to the Court of Appeal".
Bambers' lawyers now have three months to respond to the decision.
