THE driver of a blue hatchback is being sought after a motorist was left with serious injuries near Colchester.
An ambulance crew returning home to Sudbury saw a blue VW Golf had crashed into a ditch off the A134 near Assington at around 7.25am on Saturday morning.
They found a man, believed to be from the Colchester area, with head and abdominal injuries and a right leg femur fracture.
He is currently being treated at Colchester General Hospital for injuries that were described by an ambulance spokesman as not believed to be life threatening.
Suffolk Police closed the road for several hours on Saturday morning, with the Highways Agency diverting motorists through Assington.
Officers wish to speak to the driver of a small blue Hatchback in relation to the incident.
