A ZIP wire has been unveiled in Colchester’s Greenstead estate.
Youngsters at St Andrew’s Junior School, in Hickory Avenue, took part in a mock election to vote for a favourite piece of new equipment after Colchester Council secured £9,000 from developer’s contributions.
The clear favourite was the zip wire, which has been installed in a field off Magnolia Drive.
Tina Dopson, councillor responsible for communities, said: “I am delighted this facility has been provided at no additional cost to the council. It demonstrates how contributions provided by developers can be used to improve and expand facilities for residents.”
