TRAVEL tokens used by 1,300 Colchester over 60s instead of a free bus pass are to be scrapped from April.
The tokens, which allowed Colchester residents over 60 to travel by taxi instead of opting for a bus pass, cost £12 and were worth £48.
But with responsibility for running the travel concessions passing from Colchester Council to Essex County Council from April 1, the tokens are to be ended.
