Last week’s debate in Parliament, in which MPs voted against giving convicted offenders the right to vote, could be a financial fiasco for the Government, if it has to pay them compensation.
What one needs to understand is a convicted offender is sent to prison as a punishment and not for punishment.
What real harm would be done with an unjust law that denies offenders their personal right to have a vote?
Only the foolhardy would object to such a law.
A prisoner is a failure in crime, not in life. Give them the right to vote.
