AN ELDERLY woman who was airlifted to hospital on Friday following a horror crash on the A12 is still in a serious condition.
The woman, who suffered multiple fractures to her arms and legs, was flown to Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridge and surgeons operated on her last night.
A second woman who suffered head injuries and was taken to Colchester General Hospital is said to be recovering well.
Police appealed for witnesses to the crash which happened at 3.25pm on the northbound carriageway of the A12 at Marks Tey, shortly after the junction with the A120.
Anyone who saw the crash happen is asked to contact the road policing unit at Stanway on 0300 333 4444.
