A MEMORIAL service has been held to mark the 21st anniversary of a fishing boat accident in which three people died.
Schoolboys Jason Peters, 14, and Steven Walton, 13, had gone on a fishing trip with experienced fisherman Alistair McDuff when their boat, Amy M, capsized and sank on February 22 1990.
Only Jason’s body was ever found, tangled up in fishing nets, and it is unclear exactly what had happened.
A plaque bearing the names of the victims has been unveiled a wind turbine on the Gunfleet Sands windfarm off the coast of Clacton to commemorate the tragedy.
