PEOPLE wanting to know more about five common cancers are invited to an event in Colchester next week.

A 90 minute public awareness evening will take place at the training and development centre at Essex County Hospital next Wednesday from 6.30pm.

Visitors will learn about the five urological cancers – prostate, bladder, kidney, testicular and penile - which account for one in five of all cancers, and one in three of men affected.

The event is being organised by staff from Colchester Hospital University NHS Foundation Trust and the North East Essex Urology Cancer Support Group.

Also attending will be Brian Liversidge, who is chair of the North East Essex Cancer Services User Group, and testicular cancer survivor Darren Couchman from Clacton, who has written a humorous book about living with the disease called β€œOne lump or two?”

Anyone interested can either turn up at the event or find out more by calling 01206 744249 or emailing gill.kerry@colchesterhospital.nhs.uk
