To be honest the general V Festival goer is a pretty easy person to please.
Just give them a set full of all your best bits and then thrown in some giant inflatable balloons to poke about in the air and they're happy.
And that's exactly what Paul Heaton and his merry band of pop royalty did kicking of with Red Eyes and then leading into Rotterdam before serving up a set which was not quite Carry On Up The Charts (the best selling best of album ever apparently) but was damn near close.
36D got the arena jumping and cheering and by the time the band had performed Don't Marry Her, Perfect 10 and then You Keep It All In, if Paul had asked the audience to take off their clothes and give each other a hug, I'm sure they would have done.
A great live band, at a great live venue which captures the wonderful sound of five thousand people all singing along to the same song - even when they have naughty words in them.
