A WAREHOUSE worker turned dance star says he’s devastated at being voted off a TV competition at the semi-final stage.

Chris Childs, aka Crazy Popper, was one of the favourites to win Sky One show Got to Dance.

He says he was gutted when he and dance partner Adam Cardowan failed to win enough votes to take them through to this weekend’s final.

The duo called themselves Liquid Metallic.

They were up against six other dance acts, all competing to win a £250,000 cash prize, but were voted of the show on Sunday.

Chris, 23, of Chaplin Drive, Colchester, said: “It is one of those things. It is down to the public at the end of the day.

“Personally, I think we both did brilliantly and we definitely left our mark on the show.

“Now it is just a case of seeing what happens. I’m hoping I won’t need to go back to work and maybe agencies will come forward who want to sign us. I am not going to give up just yet – this only makes me want to go for it harder.

“I hope everyone in the competition goes on to do well.

“We all got really close while filming the show and we became like a big dance family.

“Anyone could go on to win it now.”

Chris said he had been overwhelmed by support from family and friends, especially his girlfriend, who had given him help and encouragement.

He hopes to inspire other people to get into dance, particularly his preferred dance style, body popping, which is starting to get increasing recognition.

The final of Got to Dance will be aired on Sky 1 on Sunday.
