My unreserved condolences go to the families of the most recent and past tragic events on West Bergholt roads.
I do, however, take issue with borough councillor Dennis Willetts citing the accident in 2008 to support an extended speed limit on the Colchester road.
I must point out that awful incident took place well within the existing 30mph limit.
My own experience shows those who will break the limit do, and extended limits on open roads encourage overtaking.
Indeed, only this week I was overtaken in Abbot’s Road, and I am constantly hassled on the road as I always obey the limit.
