The police in Essex are going to cut 1,100 jobs, which will turn Colchester town centre into a no-go area because of drunken behaviour.
So, carry out some further cuts, as follows: Cut opening hours for drinking places.
Cut the sale of cheap booze in the supermarkets and shops.
Cut the number of drunks by arresting and fining them, or better still lock them up until sober.
Let’s have positive action, not excuses.
