PROTESTERS were demonstrating at Essex University today after the students' union's newly-elected officers were disqualified.
The students elected to take-over full-time positions within the union next year have been forced to stand down following an independent investigation.
Formal complaints of fraud and pressurising voters were made against the Yes Essex group, which stood for the seven positions en-bloc.
The National Union of Students was called in to investigate and recommended the winners be disqualified and the votes recounted.
The Yes Essex candidates deny the allegations against them.
