AN animal rights organisation has offered a £1,000 reward to catch the louts who killed a dog by putting its head into a bucket of acid.

Kerry Chambers, 27, believes her Staffordshire bull terrier Bronson was snatched from her home in Cox Road, Alresford.

The dead dog’s body was dumped back in her garage afterwards, in December. Mum-of-four Kerry previously told the paper she feared the attack could have a been due to a grudge against her family.

Animal rights group, the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, has put forward a £1,000 reward for anyone who can provide information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the attacker.

Mimi Bekhechi, spokeswoman, said: “Animal abusers are cowards. They take their issues out on the most defenceless beings available to them.

“The public has good reason to be concerned about animal abuse.

“According to law enforcement agencies and leading mental health professionals, perpetrators of violent acts against animals are often repeat offenders who pose a serious threat to all animals, including humans.”

Anyone with information about the incident can call PC Ryan Weavers at Clacton police station on 0300 3334444.
