BINMEN will have to work during the Royal wedding and residents in Stanway are likely to see an increase in rubbish trucks as well.
The operators at Colchester Quarry, Warren Lane, Stanway, are set to get permission for 70 lorries, compared to the usual 40, to use the site for landfill on April 29 - while Prince William marries Kate Middleton.
The day has been designated a bank holiday but Colchester Council and Braintree Council still plan to collect kerbside waste.
The councils have decided that with three days out of eight now official holidays the council cannot miss the collections.
Waste from recycling centres for household waste and kerbside collections is currently being used to fill the western side of Colchester Quarry.
