Is Tendring First councillor David Lines aware there are more important things concerning the residents of Tendring than how much the cost of cricket has gone up (Letters, February 22)?
What about all the building work going on in Clacton and its impact on the people living nearby?
Does he think we should not increase cricket pitch hire, but have fortnightly bin collections instead, or maybe increase the council tax?
I think people want to hear about what the council is doing about those issues and not about how much a cricket pitch costs.
Just a thought, maybe if the council cut out all the waste and silly schemes, such as fountains, it may be able to keep the cost of cricket pitches down anyway. So let’s stop writing silly letters and get on with dealing with the real issues that are concerning most residents of Tendring.
