Jonathan Crook with The Very Thing – Memoirs of Drummer Bentinck
THE tale of a soldier ancestor has been launched in Wivenhoe.
Jonathan Crook, a former British Army officer who has served in Iraq, Afghanistan, Macedonia and Bosnia, visited Wivenhoe Bookshop to sign copies of his book The Very Thing – Memoirs of Drummer Bentinck.
Mr Crook meticulously researched the life and military career of Bentinck, who is one of his ancestors, and treated book lovers at the event to a talk about his work.
