PRE-SCHOOL pupils are waiting to see if they have broken a world record for performing "Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes".

Children at Oakey Dokeys in Beaumont Road, Great Oakley, took part in an event which saw children across the country perform the popular song and dance at the same time.

The Guinness World record attempt began at the stroke of 11 am on Tuesday.

Nicola Bushell, nursery carer, said: “We all had a great time.

“We’ll have to wait and see if we’ve made the record."

The current record for the largest number of people to sign and sing the song at any one time is currently 1,462.

This could be smashed if the estimated 39,000 children and adults took part in the latest attempt.
