TWO men have been arrested after police swooped on a bar in Colchester.

A 29-year-old man and a 37-year-old man are being questioned by police in relation to making threats against a businessman in Colchester.

Motorists were caught in delays as police vehicles blocked St Botolph's Street, outside the Silk Road bar, at 2pm.

Police cordoned off neighbouring Vineyard Street during the incident.

A spokesman for Essex Police said: “Two men were arrested in the area of St Botolph's Street at around 2pm.

“The arrests relate to threats made to a local businessman last week.”

The road was reopened at 3pm.
