A COFFEE morning at Marks and Spencer in High Street, Colchester raised £1,500 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Colchester’s newly-appointed mayor Helen Chuah dropped in for a cuppa.
Garry Easter, store manager, said: “It is a cause very close to the hearts of many of our staff and customers who have received support from the charity.”
The event was part of a fundraising drive involving Marks and Spencer stores across East Anglia to raise £25,000 in one day.
Collection buckets for the charity will be in the store today and tomorrow.
