I am writing to offer my support to Lisa Willis (Gazette, May 18).
It is a very sad day when the feelings of adult males, who are presumably able to avert their eyes, are given more importance than the needs of a mother and baby who are following Department of Health and World Health Organisation guidelines.
The Government cancelled funding for this year’s Breastfeeding Awareness Week, but it is incidents like this which show how important raising public awareness and acceptance still are.
Perhaps the White Coffee House would like to host an event to make amends.
