A GREAT-GRANDMOTHER who sparked a 10mph police chase can get behind the wheel again after her driving ban was overturned.
Caroline Turner, 77, was stopped by police on the A12 after leading officers on a 17-mile chase from Thorpe to Marks Tey last October.
After being kept in a police cell overnight, she admitted driving without due care and attention and failing to stop for the police at Colchester Magistrates Court, where she was banned from driving for a year and ordered to pay £200 in fines and costs.
Now, at a hearing at Chelmsford Crown Court, she successfully appealed the sentence, claiming it was too harsh.
A spokesman for the Crown Prosecution Service said her 12 month driving ban had been replaced with eight penalty points, allowing her to drive her Ford Fiesta again.
