Two people have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following a stabbing in Clacton.
Police were contacted on Saturday at 11.45pm following reports a man had been stabbed at the junction of St John’s Road, Valley Road and Old Road.
Officers found a Clacton man, 24, with stab wounds to his body.
He was taken to Colchester General Hospital and was subsequently transferred to Basildon Hospital where he is in a stable condition.
A man, 47,and a woman, 23, both from Clacton, have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
A police cordon is in place at the scene while a forensic examination takes place.
Chief Insp Paul Wells said: "We are not linking this stabbing to any other previous incident.
"We realise this is the second knife-related attack in the past couple of months and the seriousness of this problem is not lost on us.
"However, we are confident in saying that the issue is only prevalent in a small section of the town and is confined to a similarly small section of society."
