A NEW scheme encouraging residents to help on a local farm is being launched in Wivenhoe this week.
Market gardeners Danny Steele and Meg Brooks Steele are new to the area and offering people the chance to take a weekly share of the harvest.
The pair are setting up in land near Frating and are keen to get local people involved.
Community Supported Agriculture is a scheme run by the Soil Association, and currently the nearest local projects are in Ipswich and Chelmsford.
A meeting explaining more is being held on Thursday where Danny and Meg will explain more and answer questions about the scheme.
The meeting is between 7.30pm and 9pm at the William Loveless Hall, High Street, Wivenhoe.
