IN TODAY'S GAZETTE: POLICE have stepped up their war on drugs with two raids in 24 hours.
In the past five weeks, there have been eight drug busts in Colchester - and police said there are more to come.
* A heavily pregnant woman has appeared in court in connection with the death of a man in Clacton.
No charges were put to Elisha Francois, 21, who is expecting a baby next month. She has been accused of the murder of Oli Smith-Daye.
* Colchester United legend Bobby Hunt is to stand in the Colchester Council elections - in protest to the moves to close his sheltered housing complex.
* A shopkeeper has launched an appeal to help a family left homeless after their house was destroyed in a gas explosion.
