A GREENGROCERS in Brightlingsea is expanding its service by offering free delivery to town residents.
Bumbles, in the High Street, opened up in December when owners Michelle and Ian Lee noticed a poor range of fruit and veg in the town.
The couple has recently begun a fruit and veg basket service, with some customers ordering specific items while others ask for a random selection of produce.
Michelle, 35, said: “We do try to have different things you can’t get in Brightlingsea, such as aubergines - that was something for me because I like them.
“We get our produce mostly from Spitalfields so we can get things on request, and we are hoping to get more local farm produce.
“It has been going really well so far, getting busier and busier.”
Ian, 40, added: “We always have produce in season, and a few things in season from other countries.”
The shop also stocks a range of fresh herbs, another thing the couple found lacking in the town.
People can phone, drop in, or even use the grocer’s Facebook page to order the delivery boxes.
