THE roof of an East Bergholt bungalow was left in ruins after a fire tore through it.
Firefighters were tackling the blaze at a bungalow on Flatford Lane for more than ten hours.
Six crews from Essex and Suffolk were called out to the fire just before 1.30pm on Saturday.
Crews had to use the hydraulic platform to tackle the flames, which were coming from the roof of the property.
The electricity board was called after the flames started to come into contact with overhead power cables.
As the firefighters got the blaze under control they stripped back parts of the roof to reveal and tackle any remaining hotspots.
They were satisfied that the fire had been completely extinguished by 11.50pm.
No one was hurt in the blaze.
