STREET party organisers hoping to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee have been given advice to avoid falling foul of legislation.
Essex County Council has produced fact sheets detailing the various checks and notifications needed.
They include details on how to apply for road closures, acquire road signs and when an entertainment licence is needed.
A spokesman for the council said: “This year will offer a fantastic series of opportunities for local celebration with the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee taking place over an extended weekend from June 2 to June 5 and the Olympics and associated events in August and September.
“Essex County Council welcomes holding a street party for these events and we intend to make it as easy as possible for residents to celebrate.
“It is easy to arrange a well managed and safe street party on a residential road."
