KEEN birdwatchers will be up with the lark as part of a charity event later this month.
The Dawn Chorus and Nightingale Serenade event in Wivenhoe will allow nature lovers to spot morning birds, as well as the elusive nightingale.
Event organisers will stake out the area in the week before the event in a bid to make sure the birds will be on song.
The event is free but donations will be collected for Headway Essex, after a presentation on the Birds of Wivenhoe raised £375 last month.
An English breakfast will be on offer at The Greyhound after the event at a discounted price of £7.
The event is on Saturday April 21, meeting at 4.45am at the station car park.
