THOUSANDS of visitors enjoyed a taste of rural life at the Colchester Town and Country Easter Show.
The two-day event kept visitors entertained, with displays and activities.
Entertainment included a falconry display, ferret racing and pony grooming, as well as Punch and Judy shows and battle re-enactments.
There were also demonstrations of spinning and weaving, plus art and crafts stalls.
The third annual show was organised by Oakleigh Fairs, in Lower Castle Park over the weekend.
Organiser Emma Owen said: “We are very pleased with how it has gone.
“We have had a great turnout, despite the weather being a little bit cold and breezy.
“We think we have had about 6,000 through to enjoy the event – a huge range of people and lots of families. I think there is something for everyone to enjoy.”
Mrs Owen said the Totally Goats section, where children could learn how to bottle-feed kids, was very popular.
She added: “Events like this appeal to the traditional side in all of us.
“There is such a lot to do which you wouldn’t normally get to see in the bustle of a town such as Colchester.
“It’s a chance to bring the countryside into the town centre for people to enjoy.
“We love putting on the shows here. It is such a pretty park and it provides the perfect backdrop for our event.
“We are so grateful to everybody for coming out and making it a huge success again.”
