POLICE have issued a description of the man believed to be responsible for a sexual assault on a vulnerable woman in a Colchester alleyway.

A 20-year-old woman from Colchester was attacked between Egerton Green Road and Shrub End Road between 11.40pm and midnight on Friday, April 6.

Specially trained officers are continuing the work with the woman, who has been able to describe the man believed to have followed her.

He has a medium build, is under 6ft 1ins tall and was wearing a white hooded top and trousers.

Police believe this man may have returned home with muddy clothing.

The woman also reported losing a chunky gold bracelet with silver or white diamonds down the middle.

However due to the stress of the horrific experience she is not certain whether she was wearing it at the time.

Detectives urgently need to speak to any motorists or pedestrians in the area the time.
