CROOKS stole almost £2,000 worth of items during a house burglary even taking the family’s Easter eggs.
Police are appealing for information after thieves smashed a rear window and ransacked a home in Woodlands, Colchester.
Sometime between noon on Saturday, April 7 and 9.20am the next day, burglars took a television, £400 cash, Easter eggs and various items of jewellery.
Then they stole something to carry the loot from the property as well.
PC Mark Peacock, said: "The suspect stole a large grey holdall with wheels, so it is possible he used this to transport some of the haul away from the property.
“This happened over the bank holiday weekend when lots of people would have been out and about, so if you saw anyone with this or anyone loitering around the area, we want to hear from you.”
Anyone with information call PC Peacock on the target offender team at Colchester police station on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
