A woman was rescued from the sea in Clacton after police received a call of a suicidal nature.
Clacton’s Beach Patrol team and Seafront Wardens joined forces with the emergency services to go to the aid of a woman who was rescued from under Clacton Pier at 11.30am on Sunday.
The woman was walking into the sea on the West Beach and was brought back to the shore by two Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs).
The RNLI also attended, along with a Sea King helicopter which was taking part in a training exercise at the time.
The helicopter landed on the beach, but the woman, who was in her early 50s, was taken to Colchester General Hospital by road ambulance.
