A JIGSAW commemorating life in Wivenhoe during the Queen’s diamond jubilee year is nearing completion.
Volunteers from different parts of the town have each been working on designs for their piece.
Funding for the project has come from local groups including the Wivenhoe Society and the Wivenhoe Business Association.
Marika Footring, project organiser, said: “This project began in November and it will make a nice memento of the occasion for everyone involved.
“It has been a real neighbourhood effort, and for one of the groups in particular it has been quite a community exercise.”
The jigsaw will be ceremonially assembled at 1pm on June 4 on the King George V Playing Field as part of Wivenhoe’s jubilee celebrations.
It will then be mounted on the wall of the Co-op store in The Avenue after the event.
