I am writing with reference to the new waste collection sytem being introduced by Tendring Council How mind-blowingly out of touch with reality can an authority be to phase in this complicated fiasco?
For example, lidless boxes for paper. It may be the Sunshine Coast, but we do have rain and wind.
So here goes the paper everywhere, generating complaints and extra expense in clearing it up, aside from the rubbishing of our environment.
Then there is the additional task for residents of checking whether it’s the red week or the green one.
We’ve got nothing else to do, have we?
Oh, you’ll need to wash out the tins – plenty of time for that,t oo. You’ll note you are told not to put clinical waste into any of these containers. Do we take used plasters and bandages to the chemists or hospitals.
There’s still no collection of heavy, valuable used glass.
This assumes we’ve all got plenty of time to take it to the recycling centre, especially old and disabled people.
What a nonsense and waste of time formulated by overpaid, out-of-the-box (and out of this world) council thinkers!
Whatever happened to believers in that if it’s not broke, don’t mend it?
