A GAZETTE paperboy pedalled eight miles in memory of his step-grandad.
Connor Purtell, 15, of Church Road, Peldon, wanted to raise awareness of pancreatic cancer, which claimed the life of step-grandad Errol Claydon, aged 67, in January.
The sponsored ride to his nan’s house, in Heycroft Way, Tiptree, also raised money for Cancer Research UK.
Connor said: “When my step-grandad passed away, I thought it would be a good idea to raise money and awareness, and to try to find a cure.”
Connor, who attends Thomas Lord Audley School, Colchester, said he had reached his destination in under an hour and raised £187.
