IN TODAY'S GAZETTE: A CONVICTED rapist has been branded a danger to the public for two rape attacks on a woman aged 74.
John Roberts, 52, raped the woman at his home in Alresford. He was jailed at Chelmsford Crown Court for a minimum of ten years.
* Mother-of-four Christine Chambers was subjected to a three-hour ordeal by ex-lover David Oakes before he killed her, a court was told.
Oakes, 50, denies her murder and that of their two-year-old daughter Shania.
* Scholarships totalling £27,000 are on offer to students at the new Wivenhoe House Hotel.
The Edge Hotel School will be the first of its kind in the UK where students learn in a fully-operational commercial hotel when it opens in June.
* Tributes have been paid to devoted family man Graham Haygreen who died at the wheel of his van.
